Kelly Villanti, MSW, LSW

(she/her/hers)

outpatient therapist

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who are coping with crisis, domestic violence, the child welfare system, and trauma. I have recently completed an intensive training through Johns Hopkins University and the Veterans Administration for the Common Elements Treatment Approach to work with veterans who have experienced trauma.

I strive to provide a comfortable and safe environment for all clients. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy, and Common Elements Treatment Approach. I have had success in helping individuals heal from stressful and traumatic experiences. I work with each person to identify their strengths and to build upon them. Oftentimes, I also help my clients build a “toolbox” of coping strategies to help them in areas where they need extra support such as in regulating emotions or building emotional tolerance. Through cognitive processing, destructive behaviors surrounding anger, frustration, and hopelessness are replaced with assertive, respectful communication skills.
